Broadwater School Report
Year 6 National tests had finished and on Saturday 19th May 2007, 63 ten and eleven year olds from Broadwater C. E. School were delivered by their parents to Dalesdown. There was much excitement as children hurriedly explored their bedrooms and the grounds. When all the parents had said their good byes (looking forward to a quiet week!) we set to, pitching tents, and unpacking! Time for a game of rounders, and an opportunity to use the adventure trail (the zip wire is a real hit!)
We set up the Laing Room as our Den, and the dining room to feed 75 hungry people – and moved all the chairs in the lounge – Dalesdown is such a great place … and we can really make it our home for the week!
We have many and varied activities through the week including team games in the adventure trail area, archery, wide games on the huge field, along with all the excitement of late night films, sharing rooms and tents, and helping with all the jobs!
The week flies by like a flash … time goes so quickly when you are enjoying yourself! The setting is awesome and we enjoy sharing a Psalm praising God for his majestic creation.
The welcome we receive at the centre is second to none, and nothing is too much trouble. We enjoyed a fantastic assembly led by one of the Children Worldwide team – again a very special moment for the children.
What an amazing experience for all the children. Thank you, Dalesdown, for everything … we look forward to our next visit.
