The Vision

It was the vision of our late chairman Tony Sellwood to have a Labyrinth at Dalesdown for use by young and old alike.

Inspired by his vision ideas were floated, sites at Dalesdown were considered, however with the best will in the world nothing actually materialised.

Underway

That was until Felicity Sellwood took the bull by the horns and got us moving

She got together with Tony's cousin Julian Matthews of Creative People Design and he came up with a thought provoking and beautiful design.

In his own words: "I am particularly proud of this design, as it honours a man that I loved greatly"

The next thing was to find a company that could do the design justice and on the recommendation of a friend, Felicity commissioned a 'Chelsea Flower Show' Landscape Garden Company to  build the Labyrinth in Tony's memory at Dalesdown.

The Labyrinth's final site was agreed to be in the southwest corner of our grounds where one is sheltered from the prevailing winds as well as from the general noise of the Centre.

The design & build is of such high quality that it will be enjoyed as a place to rest, contemplate and pray for many many years to come.

With spectacular views over the South Downs National Park, it really will be a place to go and 'get away from it all', to be quiet, to pray, to contemplate, to rest......

Tribute

With the building of this Labyrinth Tony's vision will become a reality. It will also be a fitting tribute to an incredible man.

The Future

Over the coming months and years it is envisaged that this labyrinth will form the 'HUB' of a larger labyrinth trail which will include excercise and contemplation 'stations' along the way so that the mind body and spirit can be excercised all at the same time.

Follow this site and watch the Labyrinth grow with us
